The BTO is an independent charity, which seeks to increase society’s understanding of the natural world and to inform its conservation by researching and using evidence of change in wildlife populations, particularly birds. We work with volunteers across the UK through ‘citizen science’, encouraging them to engage with their environment and take part in collecting valuable data.
