Phoebe was a worshipped God, talented and committed beyond her years, frighteningly Olivier-worthy as a teenager, a true inspiration to all of us. I was in awe of her sharpness and wit. Much to my dismay when we were pitted against each other in comedy impros... Despite her effortless talent, Phoebe's kind and humble nature championed and supported others, which I'm sure has touched many of us. I will always remember the first time we connected as friends, at Parklife festival so perhaps motivated by Dutch courage, she had the openness of someone you could trust and a genuine light that felt like a gift. We did Eastwood accents and danced. I will always remember Phoebe for her sheer talent, kind smiles, silly characters and the light she shared with those around her, living on within us. Every now and then a student comes along who is exceptional and gives her teachers that magic vindication that their job is worthwhile. Phoebe was one of those, and some. What she had, in spades, was a real thirst to learn and grow and be the very best in everything she did. As an actor she was always completely electrifying, even in the humblest of roles she was effervescent. There was a magical quality about her that drew the eye and captivated her audience. At times she was intense and real, earthy and emotionally raw. In other moments she was physically and vocally hilarious, clowning with comic-expertise, akin to Victoria Wood on speed.... And self-deprecatingly modest, just a regular,keen-bean student who delighted in pleasing her teachers and handing her work in on time! I was privileged to be her drama teacher when she was at school and truly delighted to follow her professional career. Phoebe Francis Brown was one in a million and should not have died so young. Never forgotten
