Yvonne and Martyn Towns

Fred, his wife Rita and Deborah and Andrew were great friends of ours in Chelmsford in the 1970's. Fred and Rita were a huge influence in the Girls' and Boys' Brigades there and throughout their lives. We know the Boys' Brigade will be grateful that Fred has chosen this as his charity. We send love and prayers to Deborah, Andrew and their families at this sad time. Rest in Peace Fred - you are in a much better place now. With love Yvonne and Martyn.

The Berry Family

Fred became my brother-in-law when he married my sister (Rita) on 13 August 1955 and became brother-in-law to Arnold when he married me (Sylvia) on 30 April 1960. An uncle to our three children, Susan, Jennifer and Nicholas and Great Uncle to Hannah and Matthew Fraser. We spent Christmases together in our house, playing games with laughter. Rest in peace Fred.
