Ashgate Hospicecare
Learn more about us
Ashgate Hospicecare is an independent charity (no. 700636) that provides care to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire. We make thousands of visits to patients every year in their own homes through our Hospice at Home Team, Palliative Care Specialist Nurse Team, Lymphoedema Team, and Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Teams and Supportive Care teams. We have a Day Hospice for up to 16 patients per day, four days a week, a 21 bed Inpatient Unit providing 24/7 care, and a range of therapy and support services on site. All of our services are provided free of charge to patients and their families. We are mostly funded through donations, gifts in Wills, and income raised by our 15 shops and three coffee shops.

Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance
Learn more about us
Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance has been circling the skies of the East Midlands since 2008, keeping people safe and helping to save lives every single day of the year.
As a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), we attend many different incidents including road traffic collisions, horse riding accidents, sporting injuries and medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests.
Our dedicated paramedics, doctors and pilots work together to provide advanced clinical care to patients at the scene of the accident, before flying them to the most suitable hospital.
The speed of the helicopter means we can fly our patients to the hospital best equipped to treat their injuries, rather than to the nearest hospital which may not have specialist treatment available.
Flying out of East Midlands Airport we attend an average of three rescue missions every single day with the capability to attend even more should the need arise.
Each rescue mission costs an average of £1,400
