James Alan George Hartley (known as
Alan) passed away peacefully on June 26, 2020, at his home home
in Downham Market, with his family by his side. He was 88 years of age. A dearly loved husband of
Virginia; and much loved father to Christopher, Joanna and Jonathan. Alan was also a loving grandpa to six
grandchildren. He was an adored brother
of Norma. And a very special uncle and
brother-in-law. Alan will be greatly
missed by all – a true gentleman. A
private family funeral will take place at Mintlyn Crematorium, King’s Lynn on 7th
July. A memorial concert is planned for

Downham Dementia is a charitable organisation founded in 2021 designed to help those living with dementia and their carers to live better lives through safe and supportive friendship.
We run four cafes each month, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. All our cafes are held in the Methodist Church premises in Paradise Road. We play games, have craft activities, invite complementary therapists and other agencies to support carers. We have regular outings and meals to celebrate Christmas and our Birthday which falls in October. We give practical and emotional support and advice.
