Mum was a great supporter of Hearing Dogs in the past few years. She 'sponsored' more than one puppy in training and was greatly interested in the work of the charity. I visited the head office myself a couple of years ago and spent a morning observing one of the dogs being trained and was able to report back to her. Mum coped with hearing loss for many years. Her hearing deteriorated in her early forties and continued to deteriorate for the rest of her life, causing her stress, frustration and a sense of isolation in group and social settings that she would have otherwise really enjoyed. Hearing Dogs provide a lifeline for anyone living with deafness or severe hearing loss. They are a wonderful, caring, ethical charity. David x

I remember Lilian very well though I've not lived in Cottingham for many years. Coincidently she and your dad lived in the house where my mum was born. Celia said hello when we visited for the funeral of Cyril Liquorish not that long ago, and it was good to see her again. My sympathies Chris
