Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance has been circling the skies of the East Midlands since 2008, keeping people safe and helping to save lives every single day of the year. As a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), we attend many different incidents including road traffic collisions, horse riding accidents, sporting injuries and medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests. Our dedicated paramedics, doctors and pilots work together to provide advanced clinical care to patients at the scene of the accident, before flying them to the most suitable hospital. The speed of the helicopter means we can fly our patients to the hospital best equipped to treat their injuries, rather than to the nearest hospital which may not have specialist treatment available. Flying out of East Midlands Airport we attend an average of three rescue missions every single day with the capability to attend even more should the need arise. Each rescue mission costs an average of £1,400

LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay. Thank you.
