Thanks to these two charities, the eight years, following emergency surgery in 2013, were full and happy ones for Toby during which he and Alison watched their boys grow into young men. Cardiff Hospital's cardiac team saved his life, while Salisbury Hospital's spinal unit got him back on his feet and Horatio's Garden was a sanctuary for Toby and his family when they visited. These were tough, often lonely weeks for Toby, far from his family but he was immensely grateful for the love, care, skill and dedication of the staff at both hospitals. Spinal injuries impact entire families and by contributing to these charities we can help improve the lives of patients and their loved ones.
