Bransby Horses
Learn more about us
Bransby Horses is one of the UK’s largest equine welfare charities, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and long-term care of horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules. Founded in 1968 by Mr Peter Hunt, who rescued his first horse, Sally, in 1947, the charity has remained committed to improving equine welfare for over half a century.
Today, Bransby Horses cares for nearly 1,000 equines, with around 250 living at our Lincolnshire site and over 600 thriving in foster homes across the UK. Every equine we rescue is given the chance to recover physically and emotionally, with the goal of living a safe and fulfilling life, whether that be through rehoming or permanent sanctuary care.
Entirely reliant on public donations and legacies, our charity continues to make a meaningful difference, thanks to the generosity of those who support our mission. Every gift, every visit, and every act of kindness helps us to keep caring, rescuing, and advocating for equines in need.
