When a child is seriously ill and needs urgent or specialist medical care, a family’s world can change overnight. Treatment they need is often far from home. Families can be separated, routines are disrupted, and parents and carers can feel exhausted, worried and overwhelmed. Families need somewhere close to the hospital where they can rest, eat, wash, and recharge, so they can keep going, day after day.
During this time, families and carers can be under intense emotional strain. Alongside that, families often face practical pressures, including the cost of travel, food, accommodation and time away from work. That’s where Ronald McDonald House UK steps in.
We help families by providing free accommodation just minutes from hospital wards. Our Houses provide more than accommodation. We offer stability and support that allow families to be active partners in their child’s care. Please show your support to keep our Houses running and supporting even more families.
