Glaucoma UK is the charity for people with glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease that can cause permanent damage. People with it face a lifetime of medication and often surgery. If untreated it can result in blindness; there is no cure. But glaucoma doesn’t have to mean sight loss. With early diagnosis and life-long treatment, most people will retain useful sight for life. At Glaucoma UK we want to end preventable glaucoma sight loss. We campaign to raise awareness so glaucoma is detected early and can be treated, we support people to live well with glaucoma and we fund sight-saving research. We are passionate that people with glaucoma have a say in how and where their care and treatment is delivered. We provide a host of support services to help people at all stages of their glaucoma journey, but we're also here for the professionals too - providing support and resources and helping them keep in touch with what matters most to people with glaucoma.

SIGHTSAVERS WORKS WITH PARTNERS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES TO ELIMINATE AVOIDABLE BLINDNESS AND PROMOTE EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY FOR DISABLED PEOPLE. OUR WORK ALLEVIATES POVERTY AMONG POOR AND MARGINALISED COMMUNITIES AND THUS HELPS TO REALISE THE INTERNATIONALLY ACCEPTED MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS.
