Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Every 15 minutes someone is diagnosed, that's almost 42,000 people every year. Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,000 people in the UK dying every year. However it shouldn't be because it is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. Nearly everyone survives bowel cancer if diagnosed at the earliest stage. However this drops significantly as it develops. Bowel Cancer UK support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. Hywel Dda Health Charities supports patients, staff and services within Hywel Dda University Health Board. We exist to make a difference to the thousands of people cared for by the University Health Board across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and beyond each year. We do not replace NHS funding but use the generous donations we receive from patients, their families and our local communities to support the University Health Board to provide services and activities above and beyond what the NHS in Wales can provide.
