The historic places in our care span six millennia and include palaces, houses, hill figures, castles, abbeys, industrial sites, Roman forts and even deserted medieval villages. Caring for these places and their collections for the benefit of this and future generations is a cornerstone of everything we do. We want to create inspiring visitor experiences that bring the story of England to life. We will make sure our historic sites and artefacts are expertly cared for, so that they can be enjoyed by future generations. We'll also find new ways to involve more people in our work.

We run a number of projects such as a social transport scheme, befriending the elderly, providing support for carers throughout Leicestershire and a separate project that helps carers to sort out their energy bills. We also run a project on Community Wellbeing and a Mental Health Friendly Project. We give older people the chance to know they are not alone • Support over 2,000 carers throughout Leicestershire • Recruit and train volunteers
