62% of people in prison, and 15% in the community can't read, or struggle to. Even more struggle with basic numeracy. Shannon Trust transforms lives by supporting people to learn to read and improve other basic skills.
We do this by training people who can read in prison (mentors) to teach those who can't (learners). In the community, volunteer reading coaches support learners. Sessions are one-to-one, confidential and there are no exams and no classrooms.
