PANS PANDAS UK
Learn more about us
PANS and PANDAS are neuropsychiatric conditions, meaning they involve both neurological symptoms, such as difficulties with thinking or movement, and psychiatric symptoms that affect mental health. People with these conditions can experience a range of symptoms, including sudden behavioural changes, movement difficulties, and the rapid onset of mental health challenges.
The two conditions are often grouped together because they share many symptoms. Both can develop suddenly, and symptoms may fluctuate over time.
PANS PANDAS UK is the only charity supporting people affected by PANS and PANDAS across the whole of the UK. Its vision is a brighter future for everyone affected by these conditions, and its mission is to ensure that all those impacted receive effective, equitable care while improving understanding among healthcare professionals and the public.

W. Smith and Sons is a genuine family business. In 1892 Walter Smith, a wheelwright from Puriton in Somerset, established his own coach building business in Pine Road, Winton. His work occasionally involved the construction of horse drawn hearses and carriages for the funeral trade, and it was not long before Walter realised that he could also provide a funeral service to supplement his coach building work. By 1896, the business expanded sufficiently to warrant a move to larger premises in Wimborne Road, Winton, where it has remained to this present day. Following Walter’s death in 1934 and the onset of the motor vehicle, it was decided by his sons, Leslie and Gordon, to seize the coach building work and concentrate solely on funeral directing.
