He climbed each tree to its very height. Where many others would have taken fright. Up trees he would never stop. Until he reached the very top. Many called him 'Climber Joe.' And up any tree he would willingly go. To me he was known as 'Animal Boy.' Because handling wild creatures gave him joy. While now the man has gone, His memory still lives on. In wildflowers, trees, and hedges he has planted. And the lives he has positively touched must not be taken for granted. Farewell Joe, no longer a need to belay, I wish you peace upon your way.
