I remember the many happy years in the noughties assisting John coaching the junior footballers, including my son James. We had great times, some losses and some great wins, but always great fun for the players. Who can forget spending 2 hours clearing the snow off the 9v9 pitch by hand in Medbourne so we could play our game - the only one played in the league that day! It was his determination that got it done. Big, big loss to his family and to the village and for all his friends.
