The Charity aims to reduce depression, loneliness and isolation. It does this by running art, craft and making workshops where people meet regularly and work on their own projects and community projects. By working alongside others in a friendly, safe environment, they interact in a similar way to the work place and this helps them to develop friendships. Working together for the charity and participating in community projects helps other groups and engenders a sense of belonging and purpose. Many of our members say that they felt useless before joining which is often the main cause of their depression. Within a few weeks, they become more confident, happier and no longer depressed.

The National Brain Appeal transforms the lives of the millions of people living with neurological and neuromuscular conditions by providing much-needed funds for The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology – together known as Queen Square. This is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. These include stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. Our vision is to improve the outcome and quality of life for those affected by a neurological condition. We do this by funding pioneering research, providing access to the best technology for expert diagnosis and treatment, and training tomorrow's clinicians.
