Uncle Nigel, I have so many wonderful memories of growing up with you!! Sherbet lemons, bristlings, multiple viewings of CATS, exceptional Chinese food and happy Christmas dinners. Introducing yourself to Joseph as the "head of the family"!! Thank you for the memories, they will be cherished!! I have loved to watch how Lexi and Jennifer would stick by your side on our family trips and how you took the time to figure out Felix! You are a very loved man!! Helen, Joseph, Lexi and Felix! Xxx

Nigel and I played together in our school band, he was beyond talented and it was wonderful to see him years later when he turned up to perform in concerts with Wokingham Choral Society, last one being the Verdi Req. Such a gentle man, may he rest in peace.

All those years staring at each other across a crowded orchestra. I was always in awe of his knowledge and ability to play anything he set his mind to. He was sometimes kind, sometimes cantakerous, and sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, but always brilliant. The stories are legendary (and to be found on Twitter where I've placed a couple) but my abiding memory is of him professionally, when he played an original Tambour Provencal in L'Arlesienne Suite slung across his shoulders. Utterly brilliant.
