Ron was diagnosed with cancer back in
March 2019. He fought a long battle and
sadly died on 21st January 2021 at home
surrounded by his loving family. He had such fantastic care from the nurses,
doctors and all those involved
As a family, the Oliveys have been overwhelmed
with loving messages and cards, and lots of beautiful flowers, as well as kind
offers of support. They would like to thank everybody for this.
Ron was strong in his faith, which helped him
tremendously. He was a very caring family man, who loved life and he will be
sorely missed.

Ron was a fearsome fast bowler in the Cathedral School First XI of 1957-off the field he was a good friend with a lovely family.
Much later it was a great pleasure to see him and Pat at the Old Boys Annual Dinners-good humour and great company-which will be missed with sadness by us all at future reunion dinners. We send our love and sympathetic thoughts to Pat and all the family from me personally and the all the other Old Truronians.
