Established in 1961, Dorset Wildlife Trust is the largest voluntary organisation working to conserve and enhance Dorset’s natural biodiversity. Over 3,000 acres of land are owned or leased by the Trust as nature reserves. Support comes from the Trust’s 25,000 members, an active network of over 600 volunteers and many supportive corporate members and sponsors. The Trust aims to protect wildlife by:
• Influencing landowners and decision-makers to manage land in a wildlife-friendly way
• Acquiring and managing nature reserves
• Raising awareness of the importance of wildlife.
