Bible Society was established in 1804 to promote the circulation and use of the Scriptures. We offer the Bible to the world because we think it is an incredible thing, worth treasuring, sharing, considering and living. We make Scriptures available where there are none. We work to help the church engage with the Bible more effectively. We endeavour – through the arts, education, media and politics – to make the Bible available, accessible and credible in our culture. The Society’s Patron is HM The Queen and its President is The Rt Revd & Rt Hon Richard Chartres, the Bishop of London.
