Care of Police Survivors (COPS)
Learn more about us
Care of Police Survivors (COPS) provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members of police officers who have lost their lives on duty, known as survivors, rebuild their shattered lives. It aims to ensure that surviving family members have all the help they need to cope with such a tragedy.
Money that is raised on behalf of COPS is used to provide peer support opportunities through national and local events, which allow survivors to meet and build friendships and bonds that can support them through the good times and the bad.
As one survivor said: “COPS is like a comfort blanket. You can ring people in the middle of the night and speak to someone who has been there. Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family.”
